一甲威士忌 THE NIKKA 12 YEAR OLD
Recently created, The Nikka 12 year old is the highest expression in the art of blending. For this new blended whisky Chief Blender of the House uses whiskies aged at least 12 years that bring an amazing complexity to the final blend. Its flavor profile, closer to an old single malt than a blend, is directly influenced by the composition of the blend that focuses on single malts with only a small proportion of grains whiskies such as corn.
The nose rather fruity (citrus, orange, lemon) on first impression is actually more complex than it appears with the appearance of spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg, but also delicious aromas of beeswax, honey, and malted barley.
In mouth, The Nikka 12 year old is revealed as a symphony orchestra with as concertmaster greeding dark chocolate notes, and as a piano malted barley. Many fruity flavors of apple, plum, pear and greengage act strings instruments, while the flowering aerial notes of lilac and lily play the role of wind instruments. And to punctuate it all, notes of honey complement the melody of flavors.
