秩父紅酒桶風味 ICHIRO’S MALT WINE WOOD RESERVE
Ichiro’s Malt Wine Wood Reserve is a blended malt created by Ichiro Akuto san, founder of Chichibu distillery, which is partly composed from the last barrels of single malts distilled in the now closed Hanyu distillery. This rare expression is an atypical blend for at least two reasons.
The first one is that it consists of a subtle blend of single malts from Chichibu and Hanyu distilleries, but also single malt from Scotland. Making it one of the few whiskies giving the opportunity to taste whisky from Hanyu distillery founded by Ichiro Akuto’s grandfather and now permanently closed.
The second reason is that all whiskies used in its composition were aged in ex barrels of red wine before being matured in Ovum barrel, which are French oak barrels fashioned in Charentes by the famous Taransaud company.
